Koozeh Konan House (Constitution Museum)

Constitution museum as one of the historical houses of Tabriz with original architecture of Qajar era is attributed to one of constitution warriors named Hajj Mehdi Koozeh Konani, is considered as a historic evidence of constitution movement of Iran in Tabriz.

The house was constructed in 1868 by a famous architect, Hajj Vali M’emar and used as the site of constitution leaders, and Azerbaijan zealots, i.e. all provincial meetings were held there.

The house was built in 2 floors in an area of 1300 square meter. In this building, after main entrance, there is a vestibule. In addition, a beautiful pool with artistic brickwork and tow-sided stairs connecting two floors are some of its features. On the second floor, a beautiful pavilion with wooden nets, stained glasses and unique mirrorwork have added to the beauties of the building.

The house was chosen as constitution museum in 1996, in which properties, documents and pictures related to constitution movement are kept. Among historical properties of the house, Sattar Khan’s pistols, constitution carpet and personal belongings of constitution leaders can be mentioned.

Constitution house was inscribed in the list of Iran’s national properties (No. 1171) in 1975.
