In the closing ceremony of the 3rd Tehran Golden Adobe, held concurrent with the World Cities Day, October 31, with administrators of over 40 world cities, UN resident coordinator in Iran Gary Lewis, ambassadors, and officials from World Association of the Major Metropolises and the United Nations Human Settlements Program in attendance, Tabriz was introduced as one of the winners of the adobe and the mayor of Tabriz received the 3rd world golden adobe.

Tabriz municipality won the adobe, considering its major projects and matchless effort in municipal management, environment protection and sustainable urban development.
